Tartans Golden in 3-0 Win Over El Dorado

St. Margaret's girl's volleyball wraps up a successful week, going 2-0 in non-league play.
The Tartan girls volleyball team notched another win Thursday, blanking El Dorado 3-0 at home to improve to 5-3 on the year. St. Margaret's capitalized on serving strength and an improving defense.
 
Facing a higher-ranked Hawks squad, the Tartans rallied behind a red-hot Ella Massoudi, who contributed an exceptional 24 kills on 49 attempts with a season-high efficiency of .408. Massoudi also recorded a co team-high 12 digs in the win.
 
Arianne Bruckner and Chloe Wainwright anchored the middle attack, tallying 6 kills each, with both players hitting a very high percentage of .650. Carly Hermann returned to her former libero spot, dominating the serve receive with an outstanding 2.5 and contributing 12 digs (a co-team high). Sarah MacDonald quarterbacked the attack from her setting position, adding 4 kills on the night.
 
"I was proud and happy with the team's resiliency tonight," remarked head coach Bob Yoder. "In both the first and second sets, although we had leads late in the sets, El Dorado surged back to tie them up. The team continued to battle and compete and found a way to secure the wins with several clutch plays."
 
The Tartans next face Trabuco Hills on the road on Tuesday, September 3.
