The St. Margaret’s Library is a dynamic learning environment that fosters literacy, research, critical thinking, and digital citizenship for students from Early School through Upper School. More than a collection of books, the Library serves as a hub for reading, inquiry, collaboration, and academic support, helping students develop the skills needed to learn, create, and thrive in an increasingly digital world.
At the heart of the Library is a dedicated team of librarians and digital literacy educators who partner with students and faculty to cultivate a love of reading while developing essential research and information literacy skills. Students learn how to locate, evaluate, analyze, and ethically use information while building the habits of thoughtful and responsible digital citizens.
The Library is home to an extensive collection of books and resources that support readers of every age, interest, and ability level. From picture books and emerging readers to young adult literature, nonfiction, and research materials, students have access to a rich collection designed to inspire curiosity, imagination, and lifelong learning.
Designed to support students at every stage of their educational journey, the Library includes dedicated spaces for different age groups. One side serves Upper School students, providing areas for independent study, collaborative work, research, and academic support. The other side welcomes Early School, Lower School, and Middle School students with age-appropriate resources, flexible learning spaces, and opportunities for exploration and discovery.
A dedicated digital literacy classroom extends the Library’s mission by providing a space for instruction in research, media literacy, digital citizenship, and emerging technologies. Through a comprehensive PreK–12 approach, students develop the skills and dispositions needed to navigate an evolving information landscape with confidence, discernment, and integrity.
Whether students are discovering a new favorite book, conducting research, collaborating with classmates, or strengthening their digital literacy skills, the Library serves as a cornerstone of learning and inquiry at St. Margaret’s.
