Tartan Alumni Connect With Upper School Students to Share Insights and Experiences
It is the first of several planned panels by the Tartan Alumni Association, designed to connect current students with alumni.
Two St. Margaret’s alumni recently met with current Upper School students to share their reflections and experiences, the first of several planned panels by the Tartan Alumni Association to connect current students with alumni.
Ian Thomas ’09 and Jaden Cloobeck ’18 both spoke to students during an hourlong Tutorial last week. They shared insight on their time at St. Margaret’s, how they adjusted to college life and the lessons they’ve learned as they pursue their unique paths.
Mr. Thomas works as a developer for The Marriage Pact, a relationship-science technology startup founded by Tartan alumnus Liam McGregor ’15. During his senior year of high school, he spent his Independent Senior Project (ISP) building a smartphone app, which is now his career. “I’m on day 5,031 of my ISP,” he quipped.
Mr. Cloobeck is a recent graduate of the University of Pennsylvania who currently works as a researcher at the Milken Center for Advancing the American Dream in Washington, D.C. He cited his AP psychology class at St. Margaret’s as “a class that transformed the way I approach the world” and mentioned how keeping gratitude journals in the class is something he still does to this day.
The Tartan Alumni Association is planning several more panels, as a way for students to gain insight from alumni as they finish their time at St. Margaret’s and look ahead to their futures.
