Tartan Girls Basketball Opens CIF-SS Postseason With Win Over Aliso Niguel
St. Margaret's downed the Wolverines 50-33 Thursday.
St. Margaret's girls basketball program picked up its first win in the CIF-SS Div. 3A Playoffs, defeating Aliso Niguel 50-33 at home Thursday evening.
Annika Tufo led the Tartans with 18 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 steals as Addie West contributed 7 points and 5 rebounds. Taylor Francois had 7 points and 7 rebounds in the first-round win.
"It was great to get back on the court after 12 days off from games," said head coach Josh Markum. "I am proud of how our team competed and the maturity they showed throughout the game. Their joy and togetherness have paid off on the court late in the season and will play to our advantage over the course of the playoffs."
The Tartans hit the road to take on 15-13 Millikan High School on Saturday, Feb. 9. Tip-off time is TBA.
