Tartan Lacrosse Programs Pick Up Early Season Wins

St. Margaret's is off to a quick start in its 2024 campaigns.
St. Margaret's lacrosse teams are both undefeated as they begin the quest for CIF glory.
 
Boys Lacrosse
 
The Tartans picked up a big 8-3 road win against San Diego section perennial powerhouse La Costa Canyon High Tuesday evening to improve to 3-0 on the year.
 
Austin Hicks led with 3 goals and an assist, while Carson Barber added 2 goals and an assist to propel the Tartans over the Mavericks. Brody Booen had a goal and an assist with Andrew Toubin notching two goals. Goalkeeper Eben O'Brien made 7 saves on the night.
 
The Tartans will next face Faith Lutheran on their west coast swing on Friday, March 1 at 7 p.m.
 
Girls Lacrosse
 
St. Margaret's downed Yorba Linda 18-3 Tuesday to move to 2-0 to open the 2024 season.
 
Kenzie Farley had 5 goals and 5 assists, with Grace Burke contributing 3 goals and 2 assists in the road win. Greta Blau (3g, 1a) and Izzy Samluk (3g) kept the offense moving for the Tartans.
 
Defensively, Audrey Weiss and Elise Peffer each had 4 caused turnovers while goalkeepers Kaitlin McCrae and Kate Carr kept the Mustangs off the scoreboard for the majority of the game.
 
St. Margaret's faces LA section foe Palos Verdes at home on Saturday, March 2 at 12:30 p.m.
