Francois, Gideons and Tufo Named All-CIF in Girls Basketball
The three Tartans guided the team to a Div. 3A Finals appearance in February.
Three St. Margaret's girls basketball program players have earned Div. 3A All-CIF nods for their efforts in the Tartans' 23-24 campaign.
1st Team All-CIF
Harper Gideons averaged 12 points and 2.3 steals per game for the Tartans. Gideons sits at No. 1 all-time in St. Margaret's program history with 187 three-pointers made and No. 5 in total points scored, total steals and total career wins. Gideons also ranks third, fourth and fifth on the school’s single-season record for made three-pointers, and is fifth all-time for points and steals in a single season.
Annika Tufo averaged 10 points and 10.8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1.5 blocks per game throughout the 23-24 Div. 3A playoffs most notably becoming the only player in 3A to average a double-double in the postseason.
2nd Team All-CIF
Taylor Francois averaged 10.4 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game in her sophomore season for the Tartans. Francois set the school record for free throws made and attempted in a season and has moved into fourth all-time for points scored in a single season as well as 5th all-time in career assists. Francois is only one of two Orange County sophomores named All-CIF in consecutive seasons to start their high school careers.
