Tartans Hammer Jackrabbits to Advance to CIF-SS Finals
Boys volleyball is headed to the title game for the third straight season.
St. Margaret's boys volleyball team advanced to the CIF-SS Div. III Finals Saturday, sweeping visiting Long Beach Poly 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-19). The Tartans are seeking their second CIF title in three years after winning in 2022.
"The team continued to attack and stay aggressive in all aspects of the game," said head coach Bob Yoder. "It was nice to get another home playoff game, and they effectively smothered a very strong Long Beach Poly team."
The Tartans were led by Reed Wainwright's 24 kills with Miles Eaton adding 5 kills on 7 attempts. Beckett Harvey and Caden Isola each had 9 kills, hitting .533 and .538, respectively. Isola also logged a team-high 14 digs. Collectively, St. Margaret's hit an exceptional .416.
The Tartans will vie for their fourth CIF Title on Saturday, May 11, at Cerritos College, where they will take on 26-6 San Clemente High School. Game time is slated for 12:30 p.m.
