Grade 1 Students Serve Older Tartans As Part of Lesson on Sustainability and Strawberries

Lower School students in grade 1 learn about sustainable farming and the significance of strawberries in our local community.
As part of its grade-level sustainable goal of responsible consumption and production, Lower School students in grade 1 are learning about sustainable farming and the significance of strawberries in our local community. As part of this lesson, the students picked, prepared and passed out strawberries to Middle and Upper School students this week in service to their older peers.

The strawberries were harvested from The Ecology Center and prepared with the help of parent volunteers, before they were loaded onto the Scottie Snack Cart and set up in the Fountain Courtyard. As Middle School students finished Chapel, they were greeted with a strawberry snack. The grade 1 students also provided a second delivery of strawberries to the Upper School.
