St. Margaret’s Dedicates In-Service Day to Accreditation Self-Study Process

St. Margaret’s professional community came together during Monday’s in-service day to take the first significant step in the school’s multi-year accreditation process. 

 

St. Margaret’s is accredited through the California Association of Independent Schools and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. The accreditation process includes a yearlong self-study process which engages the entire school community in deep reflection, analysis and writing. St. Margaret’s professional community engaged in this work on Monday, as faculty and staff self-selected into 13 different committees that focus on a particular aspect of an independent school as part of the self-study. 

 

Over the next several months, St. Margaret’s Accreditation Steering Committee will take the input gathered Monday and continue drafting the self-study report. The school will also gather input from students, parents, and the Board of Trustees on several of the self-study topics, as this lengthy report is on track to be finalized in 2025. The self-study is followed by an accreditation committee visiting St. Margaret’s during the 2025-2026 school year to observe all parts of the school’s academic curriculum, innovative programs and student life. 

 

St. Margaret’s last completed the accreditation process in 2018, when it was awarded the maximum seven-year accreditation by CAIS and WASC.
