Fun, engaging activities and joyful opportunities centered around STEAM took place last weekend as the annual STEAM Expo brought students to St. Margaret’s for a morning of fun.
The STEAM Expo is a celebration of science, technology, engineering, art and math taking place at St. Margaret’s. The event featured a STEAM playground designed for Early School and Lower School students, which stretched from Chalmers Field into the Lower School STEAM classrooms. Students could engage in hands-on activities, touch scaly reptiles, look at different slides under microscopes, test out St. Margaret’s robotics team’s award-winning robot, engineer LEGO vehicles, view Lower School science projects from throughout the year, and so much more.
Many of the hands-on activities were overseen by Upper School students, and Lower and Middle School students presented projects related to space exploration and environmental studies at different booths. The STEAM Expo is an opportunity to showcase the amazing work taking place at St. Margaret’s in a fun, family friendly environment.
There was also Middle School workshops where students could explore STEAM-related concepts in new ways. Students took on challenges like a ping pong ball roller coaster and designed up-cycled robots.
In addition, attendees enjoyed a free lunch courtesy of Summer at St. Margaret’s.
