Upper School Students Honored for Excellence in Musical Theater
Upper School performing arts students were honored for excellence in a musical and choreography.
Upper School performing arts students were honored at the Spirit of the MACY Awards last week, held at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in Cerritos. The program included performances by St. Margaret’s Upper School students Tessa Maryott and Alex Kim.
The cast of Footloose received a MACY Awards win for Best Choreography by a Large Ensemble. This award honors every member of the cast and the work invested into executing the choreography. In addition, Alex Kim was a nominee for Lead Actor.

Based in Orange County, the organization honors students enrolled in high school. All high schools in Orange County California are eligible to be Adjudicated by the Spirit of the MACY Judging team. A group of 6-12 Judges is sent to a school's performance. A school will receive individual scores resulting in medals for high achieving students.
